Author Julian May has sadly died of old age, SFcrowsnest discovered this morning.

Julian wrote many cracking fantasy and science fiction works including the various Saga of Pliocene Exile books, the Galactic Milieu series, Boreal Moon, and her Rampart Worlds trilogy. She was first published in Astounding Science Fiction in the fifties and even met her editor husband Ted Dikty at a SF con (Ted passed back in 1991).

As well as her excellent novels, she also wrote some editions of the classic Buck Rogers comic strip. That’s talent for you.

Goodbye, Julian – reunited with Ted at last.
