The Impossible Object (The Harrison Peel Files: Book 1) by David Conyers (ebook review).

Cthulhu Mythos and Harrison Peel, that’s what we’ve got here! Peel is an Australian Army Intelligence Corps officer, no stranger to cosmic horrors and deadly dangers, who faces challenges that come from the dark places of the universe. A collection of four novellas, this is a book available on Kindle Amazon from the author David Conyers.

TheImpossibleObject

What is the impossible object? Trying to define it is the main problem! Discovered in a city buried underground in the Australian outback, nobody seems to be able to define what it actually is and the people who encounter it all have strange experiences, some deadly and shocking. It never appears in the same form to different people and its purpose is a complete mystery. This is one of the enigmas that Harrison Peel must solve and that story is told in two of the offerings, ‘Driven Underground’ and ‘The Impossible Object’. The first describes the unearthing of the underground city and the second the experiments carried out on the object.

We’ve also got ‘Made Of Meat’, set in the hills of Cambodia and False Containment about wormholes and a supposedly green policy involving rubbish disposal, but where exactly is this rubbish destined? Both of these stories involve Peel at his best!

If you want a good sleep, don’t read this stuff because it’s set at a fast and furious pace, with action, intrigue and horror dripping from the pages. These stories are very well written and a good introduction to this exciting character who no doubt will appear again in subsequent books. Having read this, I’m sure you will want to read more and on sale at a very reasonable price, there’s no reason not to buy it.

Peel is a three-dimensional character fighting cosmic horrors from multi-dimensions, horrors that threatened the existence of humanity. In fighting them, he is in danger of losing not only his body but his soul. A great read which is thoroughly recommended.
