Cosmoball (scifi movie: think, Last Starfighter meets the Hunger Games: trailer).

Here’s a new science fiction movie, Cosmoball, which looks like a colourful mishmash of The Last Starfighter, Hunger Games, and Rollerball.

E.T. rocks up in Earth orbit with a giant arena starship, and forces various humans with superpowers to compete against species from other planets in a violent game called Cosmoball.

The main hero has to join the team of Terran superheroes in exchange for an alien cure for his mother’s fatal illness.

I think this is one of those Russian money-funded affairs. They do good sci-fi cheese, but will this film be a load of Rollerballs or a load of Spaceballs? Only time will tell, comrade.
