In the classic scifi flick Metropolis, a German film made during the Weimar era, we enter a futuristic urban dystopia and follow Freder, the wealthy son of the city master, and Maria, a saintly figure to the workers, as they try to bridge the gap between social classes in their city and unite the working class with city master Joh Fredersen.
