Secret Invasion: Skrulls, drama, and midlife crises in the MCU (trailer).

Whew! Between Nick Fury’s mid-life crisis, rogue Skrulls trying to turn Earth into their personal thrift store, and a rebel president, Secret Invasion is shaping up to be more of a galactic soap opera than a superhero show.

I mean, let’s face it, this isn’t your typical Tuesday night at the Avengers Tower. Nick Furyโ€™s having a hard time figuring out where he fits in. Sounds like someone needs a life coach and a vacation, not another world-saving mission. Maybe a few rounds of golf? A cooking class perhaps?

And can we talk about Talosโ€™ daughter, Gโ€™iah, for a moment? She’s got a “punk feeling” and is a bit miffed with Fury because he didn’t find the Skrulls a new home. Hey, maybe she should try using an interstellar version of Airbnb instead of relying on a busy former director of S.H.I.E.L.D? Just saying!

Also, can we just acknowledge that Fury has a “former ally” in the form of a high-ranking MI6 agent? Given the history of MI6 agents we know (Yes, Bond, I’m looking at you), this lady Falsworth is going to be a bag of surprises.

Finally, Rhodey is trying to choose between being a bureaucrat and going rogue. It’s a classic case of “Should I follow the rules, or should I make the rules?” Somebody just hand him a self-help book already!

So grab your popcorn folks, this ride on Disney+ starting June 21st, 2023, is going to be one for the ages. Donโ€™t expect a standard invasion, expect secrets, drama, and possibly some group therapy.
