Star Trek Bluetooth communicator: as in, fully working!
The Wand Company has unveiled its fully functioning Bluetooth Star Trek: Original Series Communicator today at Comic-Con in San Diego. For those lucky enough to be in San Diego, the device can be experienced first-hand at ThinkGeek’s booth (#3351).
Using the new product, Trek fans will be able to make and receive mobile telephone calls using an exact replica of the comms device that Captain Kirk and the Enterprise crew flipped open to request Scotty’s transportation services.
In addition to being a Bluetooth handset that can be paired with your existing mobile phone, the Communicator works as an audio speaker to play music streaming from your mobile phone or MP3 player.
Scotty probably won’t answer, though. Or maybe he will. Let’s see. Yours for $149(ish) from here.
