Koei Tecmo and Omega Force have pinned Attack on Titan 3 to 10 December 2026, when it lands on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2 and PC via Steam. The date has been public since August, but with the month approaching and the game back in the chatter, a reminder seems in order. This is the first mainline instalment in eight years, and it promises to tell the story of the Scout Regiment from its beginnings to its dramatic conclusion. The 2018 game could never manage that, for the simple reason that the manga hadn’t finished yet.
The shopping list is the usual modern one. The Standard Edition comes physical and digital, the Steelbook launch edition is physical only, and the Digital Deluxe Edition adds an artbook, customisation and equipment packs, and 72 hours of early access. The early access key doesn’t extend to the Switch 2 version, which will quietly be the last to find out how it ends, so in a sense it’s staying in character. Anyone with save data from Attack on Titan 2 or Final Battle gets an in-game bonus, and MAPPA is lined up to produce an opening sequence that arrives in a later update. In the US the game will cost $69.99.
It is rather fitting that a story about humanity cowering behind enormous walls is arriving for the one month of the year when everybody is behind walls with the heating on. Swinging between buildings on a pair of grappling hooks while giants try to eat you remains a perfectly good way to avoid the Christmas shopping, and Omega Force knows how to make a horde of titans feel like a very large and very hungry queue.
