Brick. Flat out of luck? Netflix’s new flick traps you at home (horror trailer).

If you thought your landlord was a nightmare, wait until you meet the apartment in Brick—Netflix’s new German horror-mystery thriller dropping July 10th 2025. Starring Matthias Schweighöfer (from Army of the Dead) and Ruby O. Fee (from Polar), Brick is what happens when your cosy urban dwelling develops a mind of its own… and that mind is one sick puppy.

What begins as a fresh start in a stylish new flat quickly crumbles into psychological terror, as doors refuse to open, windows vanish, and reality itself seems to brick over. No escape, no explanation—just the gnawing dread of being watched by your own home. At this point, even a leaky boiler would be a welcome upgrade.

Here at SFcrowsnest, we’ve long suspected modern architecture of harbouring ill intent (have you seen the Barbican?), but Brick takes it to new concrete-clad extremes. Think Rosemary’s Baby with more Scandinavian lighting and significantly less chance of getting your deposit back.

Add it to your Netflix queue, but maybe don’t watch it alone… in a flat… with oddly silent neighbours.
