This family action-adventure Spielberg-like short science fiction film by Sam Johnson, Earthy Encounters, stars Fionn O’Shea (Normal People) and Jessica Barden (The End of the F***ing World) and centres on a 15-year-old kid who thinks he can rescue his terminally sick brother using an ancient, sentient plant he uncovers in the garden centre where he works.

The issue is that a covert government agency is trying to eliminate the E.T. plant first.

The nostalgic vibe of 1980s action escapades was well portrayed in this 25-minute-long scifi film, a la Stranger Things. They use a charming anthropomorphic E.T. healing plant that sits between exotic vegetation and a sentient person, drawing inspiration from classic animals, given life using conventional puppetry methods.
