HBO’s saucy Watchmen TV series comes into focus for a first look.
The only characters from the original graphic novel appear to be Doctor Manhattan, Silk Spectre and Ozymandias.
This TV series is set in an alternative reality 2019 — one with no internet or smartphones — so, 34 years after the events of the comic-book. Robert Redford is the longest-serving President of the United States. A Rorschach mask-wearing white supremacist group calling itself The Seventh Cavalry launches mass attacks on the homes of cops, so the police start wearing masks – and soon nobody can tell the police, super-villains and super-heroes apart.
