Logan, as an X-Men movie, was in many ways the movie equivalent of one of those Marvel What-If comic-book specials, jumping to a dark future where mutants are hunted and gone from the public landscape – willingly or otherwise.

It was dark. It was gritty. It was the send-off for Wolverine we needed to see – like Miller’s Dark Knight was for an aging, half-broken Batman.
